Nothing says summer like a fresh bean salad with grape tomatoes, prepped in the cottage kitchen early before the heat rises, and then fetched from the fridge once the hunger pangs set in. Lightly blanched beans, still crunchy, sweet tomatoes and a tangy oil and vinegar dressing. Even better when eaten by the lake, with some pitas torn into wedges.
