The difference a small change can make … Although my kitchen is spacious, the large window and three doors into it means I have almost no counter space — certainly no more than the smallest apartment galley kitchen I’ve had. Last year I bought this beautiful table to use for prep and to eat at. I set it against the length of the window, but found I almost never used it. It just seemed so awkward and inhospitable. Yesterday I changed its position and, suddenly, the room was transformed. This morning I made two batches of scones and it was a joy to use this space. Who knew?
An autumn gift … the delphiniums are blooming for a second time this year.
After nine months, I’m so delighted with my cut and colour that for once I’m not hiding behind my glasses. Thanks to the awesome @hair.by.lea!

I’ve just taken the R&R up a notch. Definitely recommend this lovely rose! And the lovely patterned bottle has a glass stopper too.
A little celebration on my patio. See those geraniums? Three of my granddaughters helped me in the garden today, weeding and planting. I’ve barely seen them in a year and a half, even though they live four minutes away, and it did my heart good. After that I did some more work, and then submitted an edited 75K-word manuscript to the author. That’s my third book this year and I have two others on the go. But I think I’ll take tonight and tomorrow off. Lots of work to do, but it’s Me Time.

Meet Knap, my 12-year-old rescue cat. We’re still getting to know each other, but have already discovered a mutual interest in knitting. He’s a wonderful fellow and, by the way, his name means “handsome” in Flemish.
I haven’t been blogging. I haven’t been crafting. But I’ve been editing a cookbook (the next in a bestselling Canadian series) and it feels like the work I’m meant to do.
