It’s only fitting that the longest-running fundraiser for the Canadian Diabetes Association is held in London, Ontario, home to Sir Frederick Banting, whose idea led to the discovery of insulin.
April 27 marked the 32nd anniversary of The Meal, an unforgettable culinary experience prepared by some of the top chefs in the London area, all in aid of raising funds to find a cure for diabetes.
Three hundred and fifty-two supporters attended this year’s Meal, in the hope that their contributions will lead to extinguishing the Flame of Hope that will burn in front of Banting House until the disease is vanquished. They enjoyed an evening of superb food and drink, as documented in this photo gallery.

DISCLAIMER: I was asked by members of the organizing committee to blog about The Meal and assist in getting the word out about the event through social media. In recognition of this they provided me a ticket to the dinner. I live tweeted from the event (@MusingMar). All photos in this post are copyright Steven Grimes and were provided for use.
