T’was the night before Christmas
and not a creature was stirring
except me in my kitchen, and
the Culinary Enthusiast wrapping gifts.
Dishes are prepped for brunch tomorrow,
and the stockings hang ready to be filled
to delight children small and grown.
And now, to rest, to rise early in the morning
ready to share this special day with those
most special to me.
From my kitchen to yours,
may the spirit of Christmas be with you.
(And if you’re the cook tomorrow,
may someone else do the dishes!)
Yummy…..
Yes, I think those cinnamon rolls will go over particularly well tomorrow, especially since I didn’t put any of the universally-despised-by-the-offspring raisins in them. Ho, ho, ho!
My son always picked them out and persuaded me to it eat them because they were good for me…
Isn’t it heartwarming how children always look out for their mother’s best interests that way? 😊
Love this! Merry Christmas!

Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you too!
Merry Christmas 🙂
And a Happy Christmas to you!
With these on the menu, you’re well on your way to a great holiday.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas, Mar, and may your gifts include an elf to do the dishes.
All the same to you! And, lucky me, I did have a special, culinarily enthusiastic elf who did all the cleaning up!
Have a very Merry Christmas!
And to you, too, Meg, Happy Christmas!
Marlene, what a wonderful post with the accent of poetry…love it hun.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed this one.
